God's Word to us!

As a teen the Bible seemed overwhelming to me, I wasn't a big fan of reading books and the Bible is a BIG book. The Bible also seemed really confusing when I finally did open it up to read. I didn't get it, I knew that it was a holy book but I couldn't get past those road blocks. The more that I learned about the Bible the more I fell in love with God's Word to us. This Semester in Life Teen, our job is to get our youth beyond those road blocks and lead them deeper into the Word of God! Last night at I spoke about how God is calling each one of us to do radical, world changing things. God is calling but are we listining? God speaks to us in different ways, reading the Word of God is one of those ways. My Challenge for the youth and anyone who reads this blog is to get a Bible and take the Bible with you everywhere you go. Open Scripture daily, multiple times a day if possible. We need to immerse ourselves in God's word to know God. If the youth of St. Frances Cabrini start listening and answering God's call we will begin to see big things happening, there is no limit to what God can do!

Summer Blogs

Im hoping to be blogging a lot more this summer. Im pretty excited about the summer ahead. To kick off the summer we have our High School Covecrest trip from June 15th to the 20th where we will be taking 30 teens to Tiger, GA for an awesome summer experience. Covecrest is cool because it combines outdoor activities(high ropes, white water rafting, sports etc..) with great prayer experiences(Mass, Adoration, Confession). I strongly feel that when you combine the two, teens really experience Christ. Its a good time to get away and refocus our lives closer to Jesus. Please keep Me, the volunteers, and most of all the teens in your prayers for this upcoming adventure!

Ignite Tonight!

Tonight is our monthly worship experience. Ignite is praise and worship, Eucharistic Adoration, and an inspriring talk. Tonight Fr. Anthony will be speaking on the Angels. Mass and Eucharistic Adoration brought me back to my Catholic faith and continually strenghtens me to go out and be Christ to the world. Whenever we have retreats the number one most eventful part of the retreat for every teen is Adoration, it is something we are all drawn to. Having the ability to adore our Lord in the Eucharist is an incredible gift and I hope to see many of you there!

Ignite begins at 7pm with Mass, after Mass we move over to the hall for Adoration. Ignite will end at 9pm but if you have younger kids and need to leave earlier we try to have Jesus reposed by 8:30.

Hey everyone! Thank you for stopping by to check this out. My Vision for this blog is that it can be a place for people to see what God is doing in different aspects of my life, primarily in Youth Ministry but also in my home life. As the Director of Youth Ministry, I have the blessing of seeing all the amazing things that God is doing in the lives of the youth and I would like to use this blog to share that blessing.
